Karachi : The District South Administration in collaboration with I’m Karachi starting a campaign to remove graffiti from the walls of main arteries and walls will be painted dipicting the heritage and culture of Pakistan from 1st November. In this connection Deputy Commissioner /Administrator South Irshad Sodhar held a meeting with a four member delegation of I’m Karachi led by Ambreen Thomas on Saturday at his office. The Deputy Commissioner /Administrator South Irshad Sodhar appreciated I’m Karachi’ for mobilize youth for playing their role in betterment of the metropolis. He stated that district administration and DMC South will provide every possible support to I’m Karachi . He remarked that walls of Clifton as well as old city area including Saddar and Lyari will be included in the beautification plan. He said that cleanliness drive has been started in the district to remove garbage, restoration of parks, streets lights and improvements in sanitation system.
Beautification of Pakistan Chowk: Meanwhile a meeting was held in chair of Deputy Commissioner /Administrator DMC South Irshad Sodhar to review the beautification of Pakistan Chowk and road leading to city courts. Director Parks DMC South, Assistant Commissioner Aram Bagh, SSWMB officials and others attended the meeting. Mr. Irshad Sodhar stated that encroachments around the Pakistan Chowk and road leading to city courts should be removed. Restoration of Streets lights should also included in the beautification plan of Pakistan Chowk and road leading to city courts. He said that due to encroachments on the artary, commuters were facing hardship. He said that green patch will also be developed on Pakistan Chowk with fountain.
