I wish to draw the attention of concerned authorities, through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, towards an extremely vital problem of the city. Can anyone imagine, that even after 71 years of Independence, the people are denied the basic need of life like clean and hygienic drinking water, health facilities and shelter. In spite of these problems electricity is also one of the more serious problem Karachi. Power failures are a regular feature in Karachi. The people of Karachi in spite of paying all types of taxes and utility bills, are encountering problems due to frequent power failure. Every government promises that the problem of load- shedding would be solved soon but still this problem exists. The people have been facing and bearing this problem patiently but indeed, this problem made their life hard and to some extent bitter. They want to get rid of it in near future. This problem has also hampered our national progress and development, as short supply of electricity to our industries affects their production. Load- shedding has also affected our academic progress. At night when a student makes preparation for his examination all of sudden due to load-shedding, darkness spreads everywhere so he has to close his books. This situation has now reached at worst stage, which may result in the form of protests and badly damages to the government property.
The concerned authorities should solve this problem as soon as possible to satisfy the people as it is a great obstacle in the way of our progress and development. There are many resources which can help us to get rid of this problem. However a sincere and dynamic plan is required.
